When you need heat that’s steady and consistent across a wide surface, you can’t just throw a standard heater at the problem. That’s why we built this 1000mm lamp. At 1000W and 220V, it hits a sweet spot. It gives you plenty of power, but because it’s spread over a full meter, you don’t get those annoying hot spots that usually plague shorter, high-wattage tubes. Getting the power right A meter-long lamp is a big piece of kit. We spec’d this at 1000W so you get a smooth, linear heat flow—perfect for things like wide-format curing or heating PET preforms—without pushing the quartz tube to its breaking point. Plus, since it runs on a standard 220V line, you can just wire it in. No need to mess around with bulky, expensive step-down transformers. It just works. The secret sauce: Halogen and Quartz Inside the tube, we use a halogen gas fill. Here’s why that matters: it stops the tungsten filament from evaporating too fast. Instead, the gas pushes that tungsten back onto the filament. This means your glass stays clear instead of turning black, and your heat output stays steady for the long haul. But a word of warning:**keep your fingers off the glass.**Seriously. Even a tiny bit of skin oil can cause a local hot spot that will crack the quartz. Handle them with care, or you’ll be ordering a replacement sooner than you’d like. Putting it into your machine The best part? These things are fast. Like, “instant-on” fast. If you’re switching from slow resistive heaters, you’ll notice the difference immediately. But there are a couple of things to watch out for. First, a 1000mm tube is fragile. If your brackets are slightly off or your machine vibrates, the tube will snap. We always suggest using spring-loaded holders. They act like shock absorbers for the glass. And remember, 1000W of infrared energy doesn’t just heat your product—it heats everything. Make sure your chassis and sensors are shielded, or you’ll end up with a lot of “heat soak” where you don’t want it.
