
Let’s talk about the 480mm 1500W Quartz Halogen Heater
When we sat down to design this 480mm lamp, we had one goal: pack as much heat as possible into a small space without breaking things. Pushing 1500W into this footprint means it hits its peak temperature fast. Really fast. If you’re dealing with an OEM setup where space is tight but you need a massive amount of heat right now, this is your best bet. It just slots right in.
The secret to the heat
Here’s the thing about the power: to get that 1500W output, the filament has to get incredibly hot. Usually, that would cause the tungsten to evaporate and cloud up the glass. But we use a halogen gas fill. This keeps the tube crystal clear and helps the lamp last much longer. Plus, you get shortwave infrared emission. In plain English? The heat sinks into your materials much faster than those old-school longwave heaters ever could.
Built for the grind
We used quartz glass because it doesn’t freak out when the temperature swings wildly. In a real industrial shop, these things get hammered. They’re clicked on and off all day long. The quartz handles that thermal shock without cracking, and the sealed ends keep the gas where it belongs. **One quick tip:**When you’re wiring these up, double-check your connectors. Make sure they can actually handle the current draw, or you’re going to end up with melted terminals. Not a great look.
Getting it into your line
You’ll mostly see these working hard in PET blowing machines or high-speed curing lines. The 480mm length is a standard size for those oven banks, so it fits perfectly. But keep in mind, this lamp puts out a ton of energy in a very small area. You need to make sure your cooling fans are actually up to the task. If the airflow is too weak, you risk cooking your housing or frying the ends of the lamp. And while you’re at it, keep an eye on your voltage. Spikes are the enemy here—they’ll snap a filament way before its time.
